The requirements
From the Education Area of the Government of Aragon, we were required to develop a website through which to support and disseminate the actions carried out by the department of "Equality and Positive Coexistence".
Web development is undoubtedly a crucial area in the current digital era, to which VÓRTICE, as an approved Digitalizing Agent, is giving full coverage, using various technologies.
Our approach
In this particular case, the client asked us to develop the website using the WordPress content management system (CMS).
The large community of developers around this ecosystem, who offer a large number of themes and plugins, ensure a considerable customization and expansion of the site.
However, it is also important to keep in mind some limitations or potential drawbacks when working with WordPress, compared to what would be a native development "from scratch". As additional themes and plugins are added, the complexity of the site may increase, which will negatively affect performance and security. It is therefore essential to keep the CMS and its components updated to mitigate these risks as much as possible.
In the case of this project, we proceeded to adapt the design and functionality to the specific needs of the client, implementing features such as contact forms, event calendars, social media integration and search engine optimization (SEO), which contributed to a better user experience and increased visibility of the site.
