Lift Doors eLearning

Docensas

The requirements

Docensas, a recognized leader in specialized training for the elevator sector, faced the challenge of creating an official certification online course in elevator door maintenance that not only met rigorous educational standards but also leveraged advanced technologies to enhance the learning experience.

Furthermore, the use of the SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) format was required, as it allows for the integration and tracking of content in Learning Management Systems (LMS), ensuring accessibility and effective tracking of student progress.

Our approach

Meeting the project's technical and educational requirements, we adopted a comprehensive approach that covers everything from planning to implementation. All designed specifically to provide maintenance technicians with complete and practical training in the inspection and maintenance of elevator landing and cabin doors.

This means that by the end of the course, the student will not only have understood the technical procedures but also developed practical skills to identify and resolve problems autonomously, efficiently, and safely in real-world settings.

Documentation and Planning

As with any worthwhile project, to achieve the set objectives, we first held meetings with elevator maintenance and safety experts to gain an in-depth understanding of the specific processes and challenges related to the doors (both landing and cabin).

Interactive Content

One of the cornerstones of the elevator door maintenance certification course developed for Docensas was the implementation of 3D content through WebGL technology.

WebGL engines implement a standard for handling and visualizing 3D graphics, especially optimized for the web, allowing the creation of immersive interactive experiences which are crucial for effective, practical remote training of maintenance technicians.

Thus, using this web technology, we recreated detailed virtual environments corresponding to the usual work context for an elevator technician. The 3D scenes included three-dimensional models of landing and cabin doors, allowing students to explore each component through a virtual inspection process.

Each interaction in the simulations was designed to offer immediate and guided feedback, which is crucial to reinforce learning and ensure a deep understanding of the concepts taught.

Deployment and Support

Once the online course development was completed, we delivered SCORM packages fully prepared for implementation in the client's Learning Management System (LMS).

Additionally, we offer continuous support to resolve any technical issues that may arise during the implementation and use of the online courses, thus ensuring a smooth and successful learning experience for all users involved.

The outcome

The Docensas elevator door maintenance certification online course has achieved the established educational and technical objectives, exceeding the client's initial expectations by setting a new quality standard in specialized training for the elevator sector.

Through this course, participants not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also develop essential practical skills for the effective and safe maintenance of elevator doors.
